The 31-year-old Singaporean, who works for the Singapore Exchange, went missing after he was swept away by a large wave while swimming out to get help from a nearby boat, the fishing boat captain, Mr Roslan Hussin, said.

Another Singaporean, 55-year-old delivery man Tan Ah Juan, is also missing.

Five Singaporeans and two Malaysians were rescued by a passing boat about 19 hours into their ordeal.
