Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, and Second Home Affairs Minister, S Iswaran, said 45 were pedestrians at the time of the accidents, and one died.
Speaking at the launch of this year's Road Courtesy Campaign, Mr Iswaran said it's important to impress the importance of road safety upon the young, to inculcate safety habits early.
This year's campaign is calling for courtesy on the move with the tagline "Let's be gracious on the road".
The campaign also has a new mascot, Mr Zebra.
