M'sia's richest became even richer last year: Forbes

KUALA LUMPUR - "Sugar King" Robert Kuok remained top of Malaysia's rich list last year, according to Forbes magazine, which also reported that Malaysia's top 40 richest individuals increased their fortunes by 18 per cent to US$62.1 billion (S$77.9 billion) largely due to the surge in global commodity prices.

Ananda Krishnan, who owns Maxis and Astro, remained No 2 with a net worth of US$9.5 billion.

The richest Malay on the Forbes list is Mr Syed Mokhtar Al Bukhary, who is in eighth place with US$2.5 billion.
