SINGAPORE : Landing in water at the correct angle helped a woman survive a 12-storey fall - that's the view of one doctor on the miraculous incident which happened Friday.
A Chinese national in her mid-20s fell 40 metres from a condominium balcony off Balestier Road and into the swimming pool.
The pool was less than 1.4 metres deep.
It's learnt the incident took place after a fight between the woman and her landlord.
Doctors said she suffered some bruises, mostly on her limbs.
"It really is a combination of the posture... She fell (and) she was in a vertical position. The balcony broke some of the force and she landed on water in a sitting position, and that had reduced the impact," said Dr Kevin Yip, a specialist at the Singapore Sports and Orthopaedic Clinic.
Despite the ordeal, the woman remained conscious after the fall, and is currently under observation at Tan Tock Seng hospital.
