Hadi set to become Singapore's first professional mixed martial art fighter

SINGAPORE - After two years of training and making the grade as an instructor in mixed martial arts (MMA), Hadi Omar has decided to turn professional, the first Singaporean to do so in a sport that is gaining popularity in Asia.

The 25-year-old will join Singapore-based gym Evolve's stable of 20 fighters, who come from Thailand, South Korea and the United States but reside here.

Hadi will make his professional debut in the second season of Martial Combat at Resorts World Sentosa, which is scheduled for the first quarter of next year.
