The team needed a win to advance to the knock-out rounds as one of the four best third-placed teams in the six groups. Singapore had held defending champions Qatar to a goal-less stalemate on Sunday but lost 0-2 to Kuwait in their second game on Tuesday.
But the Indians proved too strong, hammering four goals past Singapore custodian Siddiq Durimi, who was standing in for the suspended Izwan Mahbud.
Qatar topped the group on seven points after beating Kuwait 2-0. The Kuwaitis are second on six while India advanced to the next stage in third place with three points. Singapore have only one point.
