Trains will run as early as 2.30am on Sunday (Dec 7) to accommodate passengers running the Standard Chartered Marathon 2014, transport operator SMRT announced in a statement on Tuesday.
For the North-South line, SMRT said the first North-bound train will depart from Marina Bay MRT station at 3.30am, while the South-bound train at Jurong East MRT station will leave at 2.45am.
For residents living in the West, SMRT said the first East-bound train will depart from Joo Koon MRT at 2.30am to allow for passengers to transfer to the first South-bound train. The first West-bound train will leave Pasir Ris MRT station at 3am, SMRT added.
The transport operator also said the first Inner-bound train at Dhoby Ghaut MRT station will leave at 3am, while the first Outer-bound train will depart HarbourFront MRT station at 2.45am.
However, SMRT noted that the extended operating hours do not apply to stations such as Expo, Changi Airport, Bayfront, Marina Bay (Circle Line), and Marina South Pier.
SMRT added that the LRT service at Bukit Panjang (Service A from Senja Station) will commence at 2.30am.
Additionally, SMRT said bus services 61, 75, 77, 106, 167, 171, 190, 700A, 851, 960, 961 and 970 will also be diverted from 1am to 3.30pm due to road closure at parts of the city area.
Previously, SBS Transit announced that its train services will start as early as 2.40am due to the marathon.
