Both Singapore Airlines and SilkAir said there have been no noticeable impact on their flights to and from Philippines from Typhoon Hagupit, which is expected to make landfall some time this weekend.
SilkAir's Head of Public Affairs Soraya Salim told Channel NewsAsia on Friday (Dec 5) that there have been no changes to its flights to and from its three destinations in the Philippines - Cebu, Davao and Kalibo.
"We are monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates on our website and Facebook page if there are any disruptions to the flight schedule," the spokesperson added.
Singapore Airlines, too, said all its flights to Philippines are operating as scheduled. A spokesperson said: "We have not had any noticeable increase in cancellations or travel postponements for flights to the Philippines."
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration's (PAGASA) Facebook update at 5.15pm on Friday, Typhoon Hagupit has "slightly weakened" as it continues to move west northwest towards the Eastern Samar-Northern Samar Area.
