The driver of a private bus and four of his passengers were injured in an accident involving four vehicles along the Seletar Expressway (SLE) on Sunday morning (Nov 9).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted at about 9.25am to the accident along the SLE, in the direction of the Central Expressway (CTE), near the Lentor Avenue exit.

Besides the private bus, another three vehicles were involved – a trailer, a diesel tanker and a car.

The five people were conveyed conscious to Khoo Teck Puat hospital with minor injuries, police and the SCDF said.

At 9.50am, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) posted on Twitter that the SLE was closed after the Lentor Avenue exit.

The LTA posted another tweet at 5.07pm saying that the closure will last for a "few more hours", and that "road works are being done to ensure safety for all motorists".

At 11.43pm, the LTA posted that Lane 1 of the affected stretch has been reopened to traffic, and that Lanes 2 to 4 will be "opened progressively when road works are ready".
