The Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore (CRA) has fined Marina Bay Sands (MBS) a total of S$197,500 and Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), S$20,000, for various breaches of the Casino Control Act.

In addition, RWS was given two letters of censure.

The two casino operators had failed to prevent Singapore citizens and permanent residents from entering or remaining in their casinos without valid entry levies. They also failed to bar minors from entering.

A notice on the CRA website on Friday (Nov 14) said for the first six months of 2013, five people had entered MBS' casino without valid entry levies. One person had remained in the casino after the 24-hour entry levy had expired. Also, three people on the excluded persons list, and three minors had entered the MBS casino.

The fines for MBS include S$75,000 for permitting one person to exercise functions of a casino worker without authorisation.

RWS was fined for failing to prevent two minors from entering its casino premises and censured for letting a Singapore PR access the casino without a valid entry levy.
