Indonesian charged with armed robbery with hurt at Raffles Place

A 38-year-old Indonesian man has been charged in connection with a case of armed robbery in Raffles Place on Friday (Nov 14).

Arun was accused of committing armed robbery with hurt at about 1pm, at Exit B of Raffles Place MRT Station. 

He allegedly robbed Mr Kang Tie Tie of his sling bag containing mainly cash of about S$158,000 and Brunei Ringgit of $20,030, as well as three cash cheques valued at about S$607,000.

Arun is also accused of stabbing Mr Kang's right waist, right hip and right upper waist with a knife, which has a 12.5cm blade. Both men were sent to Singapore General Hospital, and are still warded.

Arun was charged via video conferencing from hospital on Saturday morning (Nov 15).
