Fourth dengue death this year

A 78-year-old woman has died of dengue fever, the fourth such death this year. 

She was a resident at Woodlands Avenue 5, which is not in an active dengue cluster.

A joint statement from the Health Ministry (MOH) and National Environment Agency (NEA) on Tuesday (Nov 4) said the patient was first seen at Tan Tock Seng Hospital on Oct 31. Her condition deteriorated and she died on Tuesday.

NEA said it is conducting vector control inspections in the area and residents are encouraged to cooperate fully.
