The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) on Thursday (Oct 30) announced the addition of Jurgen Raab to the National Teams' coaching team.

The German's immediate task is to work with National Teams Head Coach Bernd Stange and National Under-23 team coach Aide Iskandar, particularly in the area of fitness, for the SEA Games in 2015, according to the press release.

The 55-year-old, who has worked with coaches such as Hans Meyer, Bernd Schuster and Matthias Sammer, was on the staff of FC Nurnberg when it won the 2007 German Cup.

In fact, Meyer said Raab would be an "asset" to the FAS given his "impressive" work done during his stints as coach under him at Nurnberg and Borussia Monchengladbach.

“I am delighted to be joining the Football Association of Singapore. It was an easy decision to join as I am impressed by the professionalism of the management, and the strategic plan in place. I look forward to doing my part for Singapore football,” said Raab.
