A man’s body was found at the car park in Pearls Centre yesterday, with the police classifying it as a case of unnatural death.

The police said they received a call requesting assistance at around 1.16pm yesterday.

Upon arrival at the 11th storey of the car park, officers found the man, believed to be in his 40s, lying motionless on the ground. He was pronounced dead by paramedics on the scene.

When TODAY visited the crime scene yesterday evening, police officers were still present and had cordoned off two storeys of the car park, which was quiet and deserted then. The area was dimly lit and officers were using torches.

Residents TODAY spoke to appeared unaware of the activity or the fact that a body had been found several storeys above them. “We didn’t hear anything until the police arrived,” said a resident living on the ninth floor, who declined to be identified.

It is understood that no visible wounds that could have caused death were found on the man, while broken glass fragments were found beside him.

The body was removed from the scene at about 8.30pm. Investigations are ongoing.
