Jose Mourinho will beef up Chelsea’s midfield with Sami Khedira once the World Cup is over, writes Neil Moxley in the Sunday People.
The midfielder, 27, has only just recovered from serious knee damage to take his place as part of Joachim Low’s squad in Brazil.
Khedira is entering the final year of his contract with Real Madrid, and Mourinho will comfortably top his current £3million annual salary to take him to Stamford Bridge.
That means Mourinho could sneak the former Stuttgart man away from Carlo Ancelotti for around £15m – a snip given the current market.
And Khedira would be keen to resume his relationship with his former boss. He has previously described himself as ‘a Mourinho disciple’ and was not among the group of players who turned against the Portuguese when his Spanish adventure went sour.
