Singaporean musician Arun Shenoy, who was born in India, will be travelling to Los Angeles for the 2013 Grammy Awards after his album, Rumbadoodle, was nominated in the Best Pop Instrumental Album category.

Singapore's first nominee at the Grammy awards, Arun Shenoy, is hopeful that he can bring home a trophy, despite the odds.

His debut fusion-flamenco album Rumbadoodle is in the running for the Best Pop Instrumental Album accolade at the ceremony in Los Angeles on Feb 10.

"I am up against legends, people who have been nominated for Grammys multiple times, so to win would be an incredible feat.

"But you never know, at the end of the day, it's how the industry perceives your work."
