On 5 February 2013 at about 9.30 am, the Police received a call involving an accident involving 8 stationary vehicles and one pedestrian at the carpark of Block 742, Bedok Reservoir Road.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the male driver of one saloon car was making a right turn when his vehicle hit onto the 8 stationary vehicles. As a result of the accident, a 53-year old pedestrian was injured and was conveyed to Changi General Hospital. The said driver did not stop and fled from the accident scene.

Upon the arrival of Traffic Police at the accident scene, a witness came forward and provided brief information of the car believed to be involved in the hit-and-run accident. Immediately, an alert with the make and model of the involved vehicle was issued.

About fifteen minutes later, the said vehicle was also believed to have crashed into the rear of a lorry along Tampines Avenue 10. The Police subsequently placed the 34 year-old male driver under arrest at the scene as the vehicle matched the description as provided in the alert.

Investigations are ongoing against the driver for Hit-and-Run offences under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Act.
