Commissioner of Police Ng Joo Hee has signed the first force-to-force Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hong Kong Police Force’s Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung to strengthen law enforcement cooperation between the 2 forces in combating cross-jurisdictional crime and developing stronger police cooperation on 12 October 2012.
Says Commissioner Ng: “We already share a deep and substantive relationship with the Hong Kong Police. This MOU cements our ties, and commits both of our police forces to cooperation in three areas. Firstly, we will exchange information and intelligence on subjects of mutual interests. Secondly, where appropriate, we will conduct coordinated operations to disrupt and dismantle common criminal threats. Thirdly, we will engage in capacity building and professional development through training and exchange of personnel. I firmly believe that this MOU, and the activities that will follow from it, will help to make Singapore a safer place.”
