Police have arrested a 46-year-old man who is believed to be involved in several cases of theft of heavy vehicle batteries islandwide.
Police received several reports of theft of heavy vehicle batteries in the vicinity of Prince Charles Crescent and Bukit Merah Lane in September.
On 28 Sep, at about 2pm, officers managed to trace the suspect and arrested him in the vicinity of Tagore Lane.
A spanner was seized.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be responsible for at least four cases of theft of heavy vehicle batteries in the vicinity of Prince Charles Crescent and Bukit Merah Lane.
He will be charged in Court on 29 Sep for Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts under Section 379A of the Penal Code Chapter 224, which carries a punishment of imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than seven years and shall also be liable to a fine.
