Tougher measures against retailers for underage cigarette sales

The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) is taking tougher measures against errant tobacco retailers for selling cigarettes to underage smokers.

Retailers who sell cigarettes to those aged 12 and below will have their licences immediately revoked.

For retailers who sell to those 18 and below, their licences will be revoked after the second offence.

Previously, those caught selling cigarettes for a second time to underage youths were only suspended.
