Singapore clinched an overall third position in the Clipper 11-12 Round of the World Yacht Race against nine other international yachts.

The team sailed into Southampton, UK, on Sunday in its final leg of the international sailing event.

This is the best performance by the Singapore yacht in four races since Keppel Corporation supported its first entry in the Clipper 05-06 Race.

The team was led by British Skipper Ben Bowley, who is also the youngest skipper in the race.

The Singapore team embarked on the year-long race on July 31, 2011, and raced through 15 ports - including a stop in Singapore - across some 40,000-nautical miles. Other ports include Brazil, China, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
