Singapore and Hong Kong police worked together to cripple a transnational housebreaking syndicate in a joint operation on Saturday evening. Three men from Hong Kong were arrested for possessing housebreaking instruments and loitering with the intention to commit crime here.
Singapore police were given information by the Hong Kong police last Thursday relating to the house breaking syndicate.
After investigation, officers from Police Intelligence Department, Ang Mo Kio Police Division and Bedok Police Division mounted a joint operation on Saturday night at 9pm and arrested three Hong Kong citizens at Tanjong Katong private residential estate.
The 3 suspects, aged between 50 and 55 years were arrested in their rented vehicle. Housebreaking instruments, gloves, maps of Singapore and walkie-talkie sets were seized.If convicted, the three men could be imprisoned for a term not exceeding 2 years.
