On a hot Sunday afternoon, nothing beats the smell of burning rubber, hot ladies and hotter cars at Achilles Formula Drift Singapore 2012.
Held at the Changi Exhibition Centre, over 9,000 fans turned up for the final day on July 1 to witness reigning champion Daigo Saito from Japan work his magic around the bends.
Switching from his usual Lexus Altezza race car to a Lexus IS-C and shrugging off competition from local and foreign drivers from Malaysia, Indonesia and the US; the champion remained victorious.
The finals was between Saito and Indonesia's Rio Saputro Budihardjo, while Malaysia's Hanizam Bin Hamzah finished on the podium after beating Robbie Nishida of the USA for the third spot.
This is the second season of the Achilles Asian Drift Series and the campaign runs over four-legs starting in Kuala Lumpur, followed by Singapore and is now off to for the third leg in Thailand before the season finale in Indonesia. More than 30 drift racers from across Asia Pacific are competing for the top spot.
