Police have arrested four men, aged between 22 and 39 years, for theft of 100 mobile phones and dishonestly receiving stolen property worth $50,000.
A manager discovered that five boxes containing the new mobile phones were missing from his company's office located at Toh Guan Road on June 28.
The men were nabbed by officers from Clementi Police Division on July 5. Officers recovered from the suspects three stolen mobile phones and cash amounting to about $20,000, believed to be proceeds from selling the phones.
The police also managed to trace another three mobile phones to two shops located in Toa Payoh and Ang Mo Kio. Efforts are ongoing to trace the other stolen mobile phones.
Three of the suspects will be charged in Court on July 7 for theft. If convicted, they face a jail term of up to 7 years.
Investigations are ongoing against the fourth suspect for the offence of dishonestly receiving stolen property. If convicted, he faces a jail term which may extend to 5 years, or with fine, or with both.
