Singapore has enjoyed decades of peace and stability but must always be prepared for contingencies, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong told residents in his Ang Mo Kio ward on Sunday.

'We have to continue to look out for one another,' he said at an event in Kebun Baru to mark the 30th anniversary of the Community Emergency Preparedness programme.

'If anything happens, the Home Team, Mindef and the Government are well-prepared. But each of us also has to be well-prepared, ready for any contingency.'
