Service disruption 'due to technical difficulty': M1

Singapore mobile operator M1 yesterday said there was a temporary disruption of its fibre services due to a technical difficulty on its fixed network.

M1 said it has since restored fibre services to the affected customers.

Several hotline callers told Channel NewsAsia they had experienced connection failures on their home network.

Some callers also said they could not send out SMSes, with some texts only reaching their recipients some five hours later. However, the M1 spokesperson said there was no problem with its SMS service.

M1 added that it apologises for the inconvenience caused.
