SIA full-year profits fall almost 70% to $336 million

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO
DO WITH $336 MILLION!?!?!?
Singapore Airlines made a $38.2 million loss in the three months from January to March. This dragged full-year profits down by almost 70 per cent to $336 million, compared to the same 12 months before that.

Apart from high fuel prices and an uncertain global economy, the final quarter loss was also due to the cost of disposing the SIA's last Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

In an announcement on Wednesday evening, SIA said total full-year revenue grew by just 2 per cent to about $15 billion but spending rose at a faster pace.
