Law student surrenders to police over Facebook comment

A university student on Saturday surrendered himself at the police headquarters over the posting of a comment on his Facebook page that all policemen should be killed.

The 22-year-old, a second year law student, was accompanied by family members and some friends when he arrived at 10am.

He was later detained and taken to the Cheras police station for investigations.

Police had distributed 91 pictures of individuals who could help in investigations over the chaos and violence that took place during the rally.

Of the total, 22 were believed to be students of institutions of higher learning.
