PKR leaders Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Azmin Ali are expected to be charged on Tuesday in relation to the Bersih rally on April 28.

The PKR de facto leader and the PKR deputy president are expected to be charged for breaching the court order barring the public from entering Dataran Merdeka that day.

The duo are the first persons to be charged under the new Peaceful Assembly Act. According to a writ of summons served to Mr Azmin, he is accused of violating Section 188, 109 and 34 of the Penal Code.

Section 188 refers to 'disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant', while Section 109 and Section 34 are on abetting and incitement.
