Tranquillity, determination and near perfection in its action.
These qualities of the falcon emblazoned on the logo of the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s 3rd division were on display at the first ever “Falconites’ Elite Challenge”.
The 3rd division serves the northern and central parts of Singapore and has three fire stations under its command - Yishun, Ang Mo Kio and Sengkang.
Firefighters from these three stations, otherwise known as the Falconites, enjoyed a spot of friendly competition amongst much camaraderie as they battled it out over nine obstacle stations, ranging from hose hoisting to pushing a stationary vehicle at the finals held at Yishun Fire Station on 30 December last year.
Intended to uncover the best of the best, every component of this challenge tested them on their strength, determination and speed.
