1st to prep classes, then to Primary 1

For some parents, kindergarten is not enough to get their children ready for primary school.

They are enrolling their six-year-olds in special 'preparatory classes' that claim to give children a head start for going to Primary 1.

So on top of attending kindergarten classes five days a week, the six-year-olds attend English, mathematics and mother tongue classes once or twice a week.

Parents are forking out $100 to $275 a month for these so-called enrichment classes provided by private centres.
