NS allowance to rise by S$60 across all ranks

The Ministry of Defence today announced a S$60 rise in rank allowance across all ranks in the Singapore Armed Forces, Police and Civil Defence forces, to reaffirm the key role that National Servicemen play as Singapore marks 45 years of NS this year.

Army Recruits will now receive S$480 in rank allowance, up from the current S$420. After factoring in combat allowances, the typical rifleman Lance Corporal in an infantry battalion will receive S$650 a month, while an NSF 2nd Lieutenant will receive S$1,150 a month.
