Man jailed for stealing motorbikes for joyrides

A 26 year old surveyor was yesterday jailed six months for stealing 12 motorcycles in 2009.

He got a further four months for riding while under disqualification.

Muhammed Firdaus Amir Musa's misdeeds came to light after his accomplice, Mohammed Nazeer Md Sultan, 22, was caught last year.

Checks led police to the surveyor, who had similar convictions in 2002 and 2006.

The duo targeted motorcycles parked in multi-storey carparks. They used a master key or the blade of a pair of scissors to start the ignition.

They then took the motorbikes for joyrides, abandoning them when they ran out of fuel.
