Under new rules that kicked in yesterday, airlines offering services in Europe will have to buy pollution permits through the European Union (EU) Emissions Trading System (ETS) and this is expected to lead to higher costs.
Singapore Airlines says it is making preparations to procure said pollution permits to fly to Europe.
SIA says it is not ruling out any option to recover the additional burden from having to buy the permits - that includes passing down the costs to passengers.
