She claimed that she had unwittingly brought the 8cm-long bullets used to shoot buffalo along with her as she had left them in her camera bag after a one-off hunting trip three years ago.
A police spokesperson said: "After careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, and in consultation with the Attorney-General's Chambers, she was issued with a warning in lieu of prosecution."
Ms Powter's family were kept informed of her detention by the Australian High Commission. She also wrote a letter of apology to the Singapore authorities prior to her release, it added.
