6 fearless jumpers complete largest BASE jump attempt at MBS

BASE jumping is a sport in which people equipped with parachutes jump off fixed objects. The word 'BASE' is an acronym for the four types of such jump-off points - Buildings, Antennas, Spans (meaning bridges) and Earth (cliffs).

In the largest attempt at BASE jumping here, six intrepid individuals leapt off the top of Marina Bay Sands (MBS) in quick succession from 8.30am on Saturday, went into a free fall for a couple of seconds and then deployed their parachutes, before landing safely on the Bayfront Bridge amid cheers from spectators and posed for photographs.
