Woman found on KPE identified as 27-year-old maid

Ref: Girl believed to have fallen off bridge onto KPE

A girl believed to have fallen from an overhead bridge onto the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) near the Pan-Island Expressway exit on Saturday morning is believed to be a 27-year-old domestic helper from Myanmar who was trying to run away, reported Lianhe Wanbao.

She was clad in a blue T-shirt and jeans when witnesses found her lying still conscious on the road.

A taxi which was on its way out of the KPE tunnel had narrowly missed hitting the girl. Luckily the taxi driver was quick-witted enough to brake and stop in time. The taxi driver then got out to check on the girl and called for the police and an ambulance.

Workers from a passing lorry had also alighted carrying a first-aid box and offered to help. However a highway patrol officer who was already at the scene advised the workers not to shift the girl and wait for paramedics.
