SMRT Taxis to revise fares following Comfort DelGro's lead

SMRT Taxis have submitted papers containing proposed changes to its fare structure to the Public Transport Council (PTC) last Friday.

The move comes after Singapore's largest taxi operator ComfortDelGro announced its revised fares last week. It operates about 16,000 cabs.

SMRT Taxis, with more than 3,000 cabs, is the third-largest operator here after Comfort and Trans-Cab, which has 4,300 taxis.

A check with the other four cab companies - Trans-Cab, Premier, Smart and Prime - showed they have not submitted similar proposals to the PTC.
