He was cycling with his friend at dawn near Changi Cargo Complex when he heard a loud bang.
When he turned around, his cycling buddy, identified only as Mr Lau, was sprawled on the road. In the distance, a silver lorry was speeding away.
It was later established that the lorry driver had actually turned back around but only to look for his broken left headlight and indicator before driving off again.
