She was crossing the road near a taxi stand when the accident occurred at around 5.25am. It was believed she died instantly. Neighbours from her one-room flat in Bendemeer Road describe her as a very outgoing person who was kind and helpful to everyone.
The elderly lady was also known to be very active and was a long time participant of the Lions Befrienders Service Association - a voluntary welfare organisation that organises activities for senior citizens - in her estate.
