The peak hour surcharge, a bugbear of many commuters since it was introduced in 2007, has been extended from 6am to 9.30am in the morning compared to 7am to 9.30am originally.
The evening surcharge will also apply to Sundays and public holidays and now runs from 6pm to midnight compared to 5pm to 8pm from Monday to Saturday currently.
Those taking a taxi from the city will soon also have to pay a city surcharge on Sundays and public holidays.
