Married woman's affair exposed after she reported car theft

A woman seemed to have unwittingly exposed an illicit affair after reporting a theft from her car.

The woman, 30 years old, had driven her husband's car to Upper Seletar Reservoir in the middle of the night for a stroll with another man at the quiet reservoir area.

At about 3am that morning, the two returned to the car to find its front window smashed and the car's valuables stolen. The furious woman immediately called the police.

During investigations, she told the police that the car, a BMW, belongs to her husband who is currently overseas. She also said that she was at the reservoir that night with another man.

The woman lost more than $6,000 worth of items in her car, including 2 iPads, an iPhone, an LV handbag, a Prada wallet and a Coach purse.

The police advise that the public should not leave valuables in their cars to tempt potential criminals.
