Police have arrested three men, aged between 41 and 55, for their suspected involvement in a series of theft of jewellery from the baggage of departing passengers at the Budget Terminal, Changi Airport.
Following several reports received by Police where jewellery items were reported missing from the baggage of departing passengers, officers from the Airport Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and intensive investigations in a bid to apprehend the suspect(s).

The officers’ efforts finally paid off when they managed to establish the identities of the suspects, all baggage handlers, who were subsequently arrested in an operation mounted by the Airport Police early this morning. An assortment of jewellery, believed to be stolen items, have also been recovered and seized as case exhibits.
The three suspects will be charged in Court on 15 September 2011 for the offences of Theft with Common Intention under Section 379 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, and Dishonestly Disposing of Stolen Property under Section 414 of the Penal Code.
