For the seventh year, the Inter Agency Aftercare Group roped in students to help pack Hari Raya hampers for the families of prison inmates.

The group was formed by several Malay/Muslim bodies to provide support to the wives and children of the inmates.

For the first time this year, primary school students are involved in the project. In previous years, only secondary schools helped out.

For almost four hours on Saturday morning, 30 Junyuan Primary School students helped to pack the bottles and packets of cookies into hampers.

In the spirit of the festive season, they also made Hari Raya greeting cards to go along with the hampers.

The hampers will be distributed to about 40 underprivileged families supported by the group.
