Man without kidney has been driving without a licence for 25 years!

Gwee Teck Hee, the sole proprietor of renovation company Kao Hong Contractor, who is also without kidneys, tried to bribe Sergeant Mohammad Sufyan Mohd Safie on June 12 last year, when he was caught using a mobile phone while driving.

Sgt Mohammad Sufyan then discovered that Gwee did not have a valid driving licence.

Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Kwek Chin Yong said Gwee had been driving without a licence for 20 to 25 years.

When the officer was about to issue him a summons, Gwee offered him "coffee money" to let him go. He turned down the bribe and Gwee was taken into a patrol car for further investigations.

Gwee was fined S$12,600 on Friday for traffic offences and for trying to bribe aTraffic Police Officer. He was also disqualified from driving all classes of vehicles for seven years.
