Ho Peng Kee exits politics after 20 years

SINGAPORE - He championed rehabilitation for ex-offenders and roused support for local football. Now, Senior Minister of State (Law and Home Affairs) Ho Peng Kee (picture) will retire from politics to be "more active in church as an elder".

Associate Professor Ho quashed speculation, though, that he will become a missionary after the elections; instead, he hopes to teach part-time at the National University of Singapore Law Faculty.

He is the 11th People's Action Party Member of Parliament to date to announce his retirement ahead of the coming General Election.
