Bayern to pip Chelsea for Van der Wiel

Van der Wiel has impressed with his performances for Netherlands in the 2010 FIFA World Cup as both Chelsea and Manchester City were believed to be keen in acquiring his services.

However, Bayern are now set to beat the two English giants to his signature as sources close to Van der Wiel claim the German giants are expected to place an official offer in the summer.

Ajax, who have resigned to losing the 23-year-old, are looking to raise funds through the sale.
