According to Jatiasih Police chief, Adj. Comr. Karosekali, the police arrested Rahmat Sulistiyo, who was married under the alias Fransiska Anastasya, on Wednesday.
"The subject pretended to be a woman and then married the victim, Umar, who paid for the entire wedding," Karosekali said.
He said the subject carried out domestic duties and wore loose, feminine clothing, including a jilbab (headscarf).
Umar discovered that his wife was actually a male on Tuesday, after several residents said Fransiska had a beard. The residents had previously requested that Fransiska undergo an exam at the Maharani Medika clinic. However, Fransiska forged the doctor's letter she showed to Umar, the police said.

Fransiska's true identity was revealed after the clinic denied having examined Fransiska. The residents then confronted Fransiska, who finally admitted her true gender. The police are charging Fransiska with deception, which carries a seven-year prison sentence.
