ABOUT 3,500 commuters were affected by a disruption on the North-East Line (NEL) yesterday.
Technical difficulties disrupted train services for about an hour, from around 2.30pm.
A technical fault with a signalling system track module was responsible for the disruption of services between the Outram Park and HarbourFront stations, said Ms Tammy Tan, senior vice-president of corporate communications at SBS Transit, which operates the line.
Those affected can get a fare refund at any NEL station within three days, she added.
The Land Transport Authority can fine train operators for service disruptions if the glitches are their fault.ORIGINAL SOURCE
