Following a spate of clinic break-ins at Thomson Road , officers from Tanglin Police Division conducted extensive investigations and managed to establish the identity of a 26-year-old suspect.
With this valuable lead, the officers arrested the said suspect on 23 February 2011 at his residence in Ang Mo Kio.
Through follow-up investigations, the officers established the identities of two other accomplices, aged 25 and 26, and arrested them on 24 February 2011 at Ang Mo Kio and Serangoon following a six-hour operation.
An assortment of medicines, including cough mixtures and pills believed to have been stolen from the clinics, was also recovered during the operation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are believed to be involved in at least six other similar cases in Thomson Road and Ang Mo Kio.
The three suspects will be charged in Court on 25 February 2011 for the offence of Housebreaking and Theft by Night with Common Intention under Section 457 read with Section 39 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries a maximum imprisonment term of 14 years.
